NATURAL HAIR SPA TREATMENT AT HOME

NATURAL HAIR SPA TREATMENT AT HOME

Today I will be introducing a procedure of home hair spa completely with natural skin care and hair care ingredients and which gives you the same result as a spa treatment. This procedure takes the same as the spa treatment in parlours
I followed this procedure just once and let me tell you I have never been happier with anything else I used on my hair
I have thick curly and frizzy hair chocolate brown in colour and have lots of splits. It’s a pain to control my hair and I normally give only natural treatments to my hair so far so good.

In this procedure you need

1. A mixture of oils like castor, olive, almond, coconut, and ghee for the oil treatment.
2. A mixture of beetroot juice without dilution and a concentration tea decoction for conditioning
3. Last but the main treatment which is a mask made of bananas, eggs, honey and milk. Also you can also add mayo if u like.
4. any mild shampoo like nyle or fiama di wills

Now let’s see the procedure in detail

Normally all spas use 4 steps of the treatment using various products and I followed the same only with natural ingredients
Now the first procedure of oiling.

I mixed all the oils mentioned above and heated them to mix them better. You might be wondering about ghee but let me tell you that’s the most effective smoothening ingredient I ever used and keeps my hair smooth and silky which ever shampoo I use
So now I heated the mixture and made it warm enough to touch without burning. I took the oil with my fingers and distributed evenly into my hair strands concentrating on the scalp and massaging. My mom helped me in this a lot. After half an hour I used the shampoo. Dry your hair under sun if you can.

The next procedure is conditioning.

Grate a beetroot and squeeze to get juice and add tea decoction and mix well. You can use hibiscus flower powder as a base to hold it in your hair. I used banjaras hibiscus powder. This conditioner is extremely rich in iron, Vit A and all major vitamin. The minerals from beetroot, which also gives a beautiful maroon tinge and tea intensifies the colour of your hair and conditions it. Wait for half an hour and rinse only with warm water (no shampoo).

The next and final procedure is the mask

Get some ripe bananas. (you know how they get black? the blacker the better) One is enough if you have more than just shoulder length hair, two if you have longer hair. And add quarter cup of milk, 3 table-spoons of honey and egg white from 2 eggs, and blend them to get a fine paste. Put them in a mixer grinder to get a fine paste. You can add coconut oil also. Use only the pure coconut oil as the market ones have bleach in them to get the clear colour, and turn your hair grey sooner than you would like.

This is how pure one looks. I added coconut oil and the mask smelt like a coconut chocolate …yummy. Banana is rich in vitamins and is a great hair softener and treats damaged hair due to environmental conditions and good for splits. Milk – semi straightens hair and provides protein, eggs as well have the same effect as milk while honey cleanses, deodorizes and conditions the hair. Apply the mask all over your hair and cover with a shower cap, wait for half an hour and rinse and shampoo to get the oil out. The banana may require extra water to get it out. Dry your hair.

I followed this procedure meticulously and you would not believe the effects. My hair was silky-smooth and didn’t get frizzy at all for 4 days straight even though I didn’t shampoo again. The colour was a rich burgundy and shone like a mirror and the shine stayed for 7 days almost. My curls were bouncy but in control and extremely soft to touch. My splits are less too. The mask is one of the best homemade masks I used.

I would recommend this procedure to every woman who wants beautiful hair without the expense of a parlour on their pockets and as it’s completely natural no side effects …yahoo! Please try this and let me know girls. Have a great day.

Ten Hair Brushing Tips | All Natural | Take Care

Ten Hair Brushing Tips :

1. Do not use brushes with broken or damaged bristles or quills. Using such brushes can tear and snag your hair as well as scratch your scalp.

2. Brush your hair in the morning and before going to bed. You should also do it before shampooing to get rid of tangles, dead skin cells and dirt.

3. If your hair is really tangled or backcombed, you first need to loosen up any knots. You can do this by using a wide toothed comb.

4. You can pull and tug your hair with over-zealous strokes. So, always brush gently.

5. Wet hair should not be brushed. Use a wide toothed comb to untangle. Go from the ends up towards the roots.

6. Ignore the suggestion of 100 brush strokes every day. This can lead to a few problems: promote breakage and split ends, cause stress to the hair and over stimulate the production of sebum, making hair greasy.

7. Normal brushing can give hair a luminous, glossy shine. When you brush your hair, the cuticles lie flat, therefore reflecting more light. As a result, enhanced shine is created.

8. Sebum oil is a hair’s natural conditioner. Brushing spreads it down the hair shaft to make hair glossy.

9. Brushing stimulates the blood flow to the hair follicles improving healthy growth.

10. You must keep your brushes clean. Wash them on a regular basis in hot soapy water.

natural hair shampoo,hair treatment

Every man/woman wants beautiful hair - whether his/her hair be long, short or in between. And,

it’s not just about some glitzy shampoo that a sexy model advertises on TV!

So, what can we do for gorgeous hair?

1) Eat right - as I’ve stated before, it’s supposed to be a duh, but it really is something we Americans struggle with. However, proper nutrition is the cornerstone for health AND beauty.

2) Drink plenty of water - again, a duh - and again, not enough of us do it.

3) Exercise - I know, UGH! But, increased blood flow, better Circulation and heart health and better overall health SHOW via our skin, nails and hair.

4) Scalp stimulation. This isn’t just for Hair Growth, it helps scalp health as well. Here’s a couple of good tips:

a) Sitting comfortably grab handfuls of your hair and gently pull straight out. Do this all over your head twice. Try to do this each day - before a shower or washing your hair.

b) Reflexology for the head…how can it help? Well, much in the same way as my previous tip. Scalp stimulation and the unclogging of hair follicles contributes to both growth and health of hair. Sitting comfortably, form your hands into loose fists. Taking the knuckles of your hands, gently tap all over your head - making sure you get ALL of your head at least twice. Believe it or not, you’ll actually feel a cool/tingling sensation when you’re done. Now, don’t hit too hard - that’ll just give you an unattractive and painful lump!

c) My gramma SWORE by this one and I have to admit that although, even as a Dr. of Reflexology, I have NO idea why it works, it does work. Try this for getting your hair to grow. Position the fingernails of each hand towards each other with hands cupped. BRISKLY buff nails of your hands together (back and forth) for at least five minutes a day. Now, head reflexes are at the tips of fingers, and maybe that is why this works so well. But, for whatever reason, it rocks

5) A good shampoo and conditioner - and, if you do some searches in this site, you’ll find some great natural shampoos, conditioners and ‘problem fixers’ that are really inexpensive to make - many times using things already found in your fridge.

6) Ok, I fibbed - this tip will cost some money - but nearly everyone recognizes the need for some Supplements in their daily routine so I figured I’d include a few that are great for hair.

a) Biotin - Contained naturally in foods such as cheese, raspberries, eggs, liver, chicken and avocados, most people get enough Biotin in their regular diets without ever having to worry about a deficiency. The function of Biotin is to help the body make use of essential folic acids, pantothenic acid, protein and vitamin B-12. Although very rare, Biotin deficiency can cause fatigue, Hair Loss, depression, skin rash and skin discoloration. I get my Biotin from Hair, Skin & Nails by Rexall and I love it!

b) Omega-3 Fish Oils - Just as I’ve recommended for skin, Fish Oils rock for the hair too. Fish Oil helps maintain a good luster of the hair. Omega three has hair growing properties as it provides nourishment to the follicles. It therefore aids in faster development of hair and preventing Hair Loss. A good supply of Proteins is also necessary for Hair Growth. Since most fish varieties are rich in protein, eating fish helps in keeping healthy hair.

c) Flax Seed Oil - Promote healthy hair and nails. The abundant Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Flaxseed oil have been shown to contribute to healthy Hair Growth (in fact, low levels of these acids may cause dry and lackluster locks). Hair problems exacerbated by Psoriasis or Eczema of the scalp may respond to the skin-revitalizing and anti-inflammatory actions of Flaxseed oil as well. Similarly, the oil’s FAs work to nourish dry or brittle nails, stopping them from cracking or splitting.

d) A good Multi-Vitamin - this is just a great staple to include regardless.

7) My final tip? Beer. Good ol’ cheapo beer - you know, like PBR or Busch. As a matter of fact, make it warm, stale beer! (yes, I’m serious) The Proteins from the malt and Hops in the beer coat the hair and build it up and help repair damage. It leaves the hair with wonderful body. After your shampoo, rinse your hair with a little beer. This can help restore shine. Honestly, it makes your hair shinier than any fancyschmancy conditioner or treatment I’ve ever found. This is one I’ll swear by!

Here’s a couple of recipes to get you started:

Beer Shampoo

  • 3/4 cup beer (any cheap brand)
  • 1 cup inexpensive shampoo Boil the beer until it reduces to 1/4 cup. Cool the beer and add it to the 1 cup of inexpensive shampoo

Beer Hair Rinse

If you want to do something nice for your hair, rinse it once a month with flat beer. After applying the beer, you can rinse the hair with warm water or not, as you choose.

The beer acts as a natural setting lotion, giving blow-dried hair increased vitality, resilience and hold. The B Vitamins and natural sugar add body and shine. Don’t worry; the stale beer smell will disappear very quickly.

  • Super Body Hair Treatment
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatine
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon stale beer

Combine ingredients in a small bowl. Comb or brush into hair. Cover hair with a plaster shower cap or wrap with a Sheet of plastic wrap. Cover with a thick terrycloth towel.

Leave the treatment on for 30 minutes, then rinse in warm water. Shampoo the hair.

That’s about it for now - but I think it’s enough to start you on the road to gorgeous, shiny hair!

5 Simple, Easy Hair Tricks

Here are the Hair Tricks (5 Simple, Easy Tricks)

Here are a few very simple and easy hair tricks that will help you achieve the hair you always wanted.

1. If you're not satisfied with your current hairstyle, a simple trick is to change your salon or your stylist. A new hairdresser might have some fantastic new ideas for you. A younger stylist may suggest something trendier for you.

2. To choose the best hairdo for you, visit the salon wearing the clothes that you wear every day. This will help your new stylist to give you advice on a suitable style. A very good idea is to talk about the job that you do. Formal types of jobs where you must dress appropriately require specific hair cuts.

3. When I want to refresh my look, I do two easy things: I change the color slightly (a few subtle highlights or lowlights) and change the length to some extent. Try it and you will be surprised with the results.

4. Apply an avocado hair mask for additional shine. Mix a ripe avocado with a quantity of olive oil. Apply to towel dried hair, cover with a towel and wait 30 minutes before rinsing off.

5. You can also enhance hair shine with finishing rinse. Chamomile tea is good for blondes or redheads while beer is great for brunettes. Flat cola is the best for darker hair.

5 Hair Conditioners You Can Make at Home

5 Hair Conditioners You Can Make at Home

The Herbal Education Coordinator at City Market in Burlington, VT — there are many items from your kitchen that you can use to make natural beauty products. And aside from saving money, there are many reasons to make your own, including taking better care of your skin and hair.  I have picked out five easy recipes for homemade hair conditioners that treat dry or damaged hair, along with some excellent general advice from Nunziata's natural hair care workshops. You might think of beer, bananas, and coconut oil as the main ingredients to an awesome banana bread, but to use in a natural hair conditioner?

While these are simple recipes, Nunziata does say it takes practice to get it right and that there are some important things to remember about using conditioners:
Conditioning lubricates the hair shaft, causing softness and preventing breakage and tangles. Most are applied after shampooing, but some are used prior and left on for 20 minutes or even overnight.

Avocado Deep Conditioner

  • 1/2 mashed ripe avocado
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 3 drops lavender or rosemary essential oil
Combine ingredients and apply to hair, focusing on the ends. Leave on for at least 10 minutes, then rinse.
Cost: Around $10 for two to three treatments. The essential oil will be the most expensive item here (around $8.50). You can always buy a small amount of olive oil in bulk if you don't already have it on hand. Unless you plan to eat the other half of the avocado, keep the pit inside the flesh of the avocado and store it in a container in the refrigerator; this will keep it from turning completely brown when you are ready to use it again. Use the other half within 24 hours.

Oil Hair-Conditioning Treatment

  • Small amount of jojoba, olive, or coconut oil
  • Herb mixture of choice (optional)
  • Essential oils of choice (optional)
  1. Warm the oil to 100-105 degrees in a double boiler. If using, add herbs and essential oils.
  2. Dampen hair. For long or thick hair, use 1-2 teaspoons of the oil mixture, and for fine or short hair, use 1/4 teaspoon of the mixture. Massage oil into the scalp and work through the strands, covering all hair completely. Cover hair with a shower cap or plastic bag and if possible sit in the sun or by the woodstove. Heat facilitates the process. Leave the oil in for an hour or two, and then, shampoo and rinse.

Cost: Less than $15 if you don't use jojoba or essential oils. This cost should include at least 20 treatments, since a jar of coconut oil lasts a long time if you use a moderate amount for each treatment. Same with the essential oils if you decide to use them, which will increase the cost to between $20 to $25, depending on which essential oils you choose (some are more expensive than others).

Vinegar Rinses

Vinegar rinses relieve itchy scalp, dandruff, and dull hair and restore the scalp’s natural acid mantle. They are best for normal and oily hair, rather than dry. Use white vinegar for blondes, apple cider vinegar for brunettes, and red wine vinegar for red-heads. Leave the rinse on for at least five minutes if you are going to rinse it out. You can, however, leave it on and any smell will disappear once the hair is dry.

  • Herb blend: For blondes, calendula and chamomile; For dark hair, nettle and marshmallow; or make up your own

  • Apple cider vinegar
  • A few drops of essential oil
  • Distilled water
1. Fill a quart jar half way with herbs. Cover with vinegar and cap tightly. Place the jar in a warm spot for 2-3 weeks, shaking daily.
2. Strain the vinegar and add essential oils. Store in a plastic bottle.
3. Dilute the rinse with distilled water. For oily hair, dilute one part rinse with four parts water. For dry hair, dilute one part rinse with six parts water. After shampooing and rinsing, pour vinegar rinse slowly over hair, massaging it into the scalp. Rinse with water.

Hair Conditioning & its Importance

Many people have a mindset that conditioners are meant for only those people who have rough and unmanageable hair. However, this is just a myth and everyone irrespective of the texture of your hair should use hair conditioners.

Hair Conditioning plays an essential role in keeping hair in the best condition possible. Some of the benefits that can be enjoyed after using hair conditioner are as follows:

·  It helps in providing some essential nourishment to hair and thus keeps them healthy.

·   Women with unmanageable hair can rely on conditioning for bringing their locks of hair under control.

·   Conditioners are capable of providing required moisture to hair and thus make them soft and silky.

·   It adds volume for thin hair with ease.

All these benefits are sufficient to make one realize the importance of hair conditioning. These days, the market is flooded with wide array of hair conditioners. However, good quality conditioners have been priced at high rates and it is not possible for everyone to afford them. Well, you should not worry as you can condition your hair at home as well.

Two Ways to Condition Hair at Home

1.      Conditioner with Apple Cider Vinegar

One of the most effective and easiest ways to condition your hair is to use vinegar. Once you have shampooed your hair properly, add a tablespoon of vinegar in water. You can take about one liter of water for preparing the conditioner. Use this conditioner for rinsing your hair. This conditioner would make hair look soft and shiny. In addition, it helps in maintaining the pH balance of hair.

2.      Conditioner made using Yogurt & Egg

Take about four tablespoons of yogurt and one egg. Mix both of them together for some time. You should apply this mixture on your hair after you are done with the shampoo. You should massage your hair after applying the mixture and leave it for about ten minutes. Now rinse the mixture using lukewarm water. This conditioner is best suitable for individuals who have dry and unmanageable hair.

So conditioning your hair is now affordable and easy with some homemade hair conditioner.

Add shine to dry hair with these home-made hair packs

Dry, frizzy hair can be unmanageable and have a lacklustre appearance. On the other hand, healthy hair has an outer layer that contains natural oil to keep it moist and shiny. When this layer is damaged – and this can happen due to several reasons – the hair begins to look and feel dull, unhealthy and dry. Some of the reasons that can lead to dry, unhealthy hair are:
  • Illness or nutritional deficiency
  • Harsh shampoo or hair dye
  • A high mineral content in the water
  • Chlorine used in swimming pool water
Whatever be the specific cause for your dry hair, there are a few home remedies that can help you combat this problem.

Vinegar:

Vinegar acts like a conditioner on dry hair; it also has the desirable effect of removing dandruff that may be contributing to the lackluster appearance of your hair. Take about half a cup of vinegar and mix in 2 cups of water. Use this liquid as a conditioner after you have rinsed the shampoo out of your hair. Allow it to stay on for a few minutes and then rinse off completely with water.

Eggs:

Eggs are rich in proteins, fatty acids as well as the fat-soluble vitamins and this makes them an excellent nutrient; besides, they also have a cleansing and conditioning effect, which means they can work wonders on dry hair. Collect the white of a single egg and mix in 3 tablespoons of water; apply this mixture onto your hair, leave it on for about 30 minutes and then rinse out thoroughly.
Eggs work even better in combination with a little vinegar and olive oil. Take the contents of 3 eggs, mix in a single teaspoon of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix thoroughly to get a viscous liquid; apply this to your hair and cover the hair for about half-an-hour with a plastic cap. Wash out with a mild shampoo and water to get hair that has a healthy moisture content and a lively shine.
Another remedy that works well is eggs with almond oil and curd. Beat 2 eggs, mix in about 2 tablespoons of almond oil and half a cup of curd; stir to get a pasty mass and massage this into the hair and scalp. Cover with a plastic cap for about 30 minutes and then wash with warm water and a mild shampoo.

Vegetable oils:

Dry hair often tends to get brittle too and this causes it to break easily. Any vegetable oil – olive, coconut or almond – can be used to moisturise such dry hair and give it strength. Warm a little oil to a temperature that feels comfortable to the skin. Then slightly dampen your hair and apply this warm oil all over. Cover with a warm towel and leave it on for about an hour. Use a mild shampoo to wash hair and when the hair has dried, you’ll find it has a healthy look and texture.
For a greater moisturising effect, mix in a teaspoon of honey into the warm oil.
Coconut oil in combination with curry leaves (karipatta) can also work wonders for dry hair. Drop in a few washed and dried curry leaves into a few tablespoons of coconut oil, warm for 2 minutes and when the mixture has cooled, massage it gently onto the scalp and hair. Cover with a warm towel for about 20 minutes and then wash with a mild shampoo.

Aloe vera:

We all know that aloe vera is a great moisturiser for the skin but it works equally well on hair too. Especially for those with dry hair, aloe vera treatment can help give a shine and soft texture that makes frizzy hair manageable. This moisturising effect on hair works even better when used in combination with other ingredients. For example, you can make a paste with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and 3 tablespoons of curd and leave this on your hair for about half an hour. Or, you could collect a few hibiscus flowers, grind to a thick paste and to 2 teaspoons of this, and mix in half a cup of aloe vera gel and one teaspoon of olive oil.

Tips:

Along with these home remedies, you should also pay attention to how you handle your hair. Do you brush or comb hair when it is wet? This could cause hair to lose its strength, grow dry and brittle.
Shampooing hair very often to give it a squeaky clean feeling is also bad; it can deplete the natural oil present in the hair, making it dry and weak.
The hair dryer may be a boon to those hard-pressed for time; but every time you blow dry your hair; remember that you are also paving the path for dry and brittle hair. Use the lower setting for the dryer, and use it sparingly to just get the moisture down a little from where it can dry naturally on its own.
With a few changes in the way you manage your hair and these home remedies, you can soon bid goodbye to your dry hair woes.
